Grade 1 | No need for drugs or surgery, endoscopy, or intervention |
Grade 2 | Requiring some treatment, including blood transfusions and parenteral nutrition |
Grade 3 | Requiring surgical, endoscopic, or radiological intervention |
 3a | Intervention not under general anesthesia |
 3b | Intervention under general anesthesia |
Grade 4 | Severe life-threatening complications need to be transferred to the intensive care unit or special care unit |
 4a | Single-organ dysfunction |
 4b | Multiorgan dysfunction |
Grade 5 | Resulting in death |
