The investigators have quantified each of the nine PRECIS-2 domains along the “explanatory–pragmatic continuum”, where 1 = most explanatory and 5 = most pragmatic. Generally, pragmatic trials correspond with “real-world effectiveness trials” and explanatory trials correspond with “efficacy/mechanistic trials”
