(a) A coronal view (right) demonstrating significant hypoactivation of the left amygdala for non-conscious negative emotion processing. Comparison between the MDD and control groups (left) shows a significant difference (corrected P <0.05). (b) Significant reductions in gray matter volume (uncorrected P <0.05) are shown in the right amygdala, right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and anterior cingulate regions. (c) FA in the fornix and cingulum portion of the cingulate bundle was significantly lower (P <0.05) in the MDD group in comparison to controls.
