Inclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria

Patients with isolated, laterally displaced Zygomatic bone fracture determined on clinical and radiographic findings (Waters' view, Caldwell's posterior-anterior view).

Patients with zygomatic bone fracture displaced in other directions but more than 15 days old.

Intra-oral approach

Comminuted zygomatic bone fracture

Gun shot injuries

Medically unfit for surgery, who are unfit to undergo General Anesthesia as evident from pre operative anesthetic evaluation

Infected fractures

Pathological fractures

Open fracture

extra-oral approach

Age between 14 and 60

missing operability

foreseeable missing opportunity of follow-up examination

Written informed consent

pregnancy, heart-, pulmonal-, liver- and kidney disease, chronic pain syndrom

nursing, drug addiction, recent operations, and diseases like heart, metabolism, CNS, infectious, circulation, systemic, malignant and immune system affecting diseases as well as blood coagulation disorders and allergic reactions to pharmaceuticals and antibiotics
